Technical Information
Trona is an online imaginary environment commonly referred to as a MUD (Multi User Dimension or Multi User Dungeon). It is a completely text based original concept and world with a unique mythos and theme, while also sharing some common components with other MUDs.
Specifically Trona has been specially crafted from the LP derivative of MUDs, running on the CD mudlib and driver. The CD driver and mudlib implementation of the LPMud system was chosen for the following reasons:
Descriptive meanings instead of numbers. Every measurable amount has a
corresponding text description. For example you will not see 100/100 points, you will instead see physically "feeling very well" and mentally in "full vigor."
A unique balance between fighting and questing. To advance within Trona you will need to use your brain and not just your muscles.
A great environment for nurturing and encouraging role play. This environment includes a unique descriptive character attributes and introduction system where characters must make the acquaintance of other players to learn there identity or to preserve anonymity.
Flexibility of the mudlib and use of the LPC language. The entire game is written in an interpreted programming language called LPC, making it easy for wizards to extend Trona or correct bugs without stopping the game or recompiling.
A wizard hierarchy system consisting of domains to provide for checks and balances preventing rogue wizards from releasing malfunctioning or out of balance code into the game.
A medieval fantasy setting. No complex or mechanical equipment, people live by the sword, the spear, and the axe.
A refined and extendable skill system. New and unique skills can be added to the game for more playability and to create some interesting guilds with unusual abilities.
No stock areas! You will not find another Realmgaard or any stock areas common in other types of MUDs like Diku.
