Guilds of Trona

There are several types of guilds in Trona. Guilds are classified as racial, layman and occupational. Generally speaking racial and layman guilds are a more relaxed gathering focused on teaching and refining a small set of abilities. Occupational guilds are usually more rigid in regards to rules and membership, typically requiring potential members seek approval and are run by some sort of governing body or leader.

Although all guilds are optional, to fully experience Trona and make serious advancement within the game you will probably need to take advantage of one or more guild memberships. Technically you are allowed to belong to one guild of each type, realistically membership in one guild may exclude you from belonging to another due to conflicting loyalties and interests or on principal alone.

Much like your characters race, carefully consider your guild choices. It is best to become knowledgeable of the land first by gaining experience and speaking to members of guilds (if they will speak of them, or to you at all) to find out what would best suit the type of character you are trying to create. As with many choices, if you choose to leave a guild chances are you will incur some type of penalty or temporary setback.

Guild Types

Racial
Racial guilds only allow members from a respected race the guild is for. These guilds are more for gaining a sense of history and for honing traits and skills that are common of that race.

Layman
Layman guilds are a journeyman's society, usually allowing one to apprentice or provide a path for an occupational guild or training some skills to a low or high level depending on how specialized it is. Layman guilds are usually lax in regards to membership with a minimal amount of guidelines.

Occupational
Occupational guilds are professional groups of people who generally have come together for a cause. Some guilds may have a definite goal such as eradicating the lands of evil-doers, while others may be broader and exist for seemingly pointless reasons to outsiders. The skills taught in an occupational guild are the highest of all guild types, and to a level that is not attainable otherwise.
